Spin Sampler
v1.23 · October 2, 2026 · Producer Starter · Pro Studio · Label Enterprise · White Label
Turntables and a mixer in your browser that open with music already playing — scratch any sound, blend the decks with the crossfader, and record exactly what you hear.
Story
Open it and music is already playing: Deck A has a loop on it, ready to scratch. Put any sound on a record and move it with your hand: forward, backwards, slowed down, sped up, just like vinyl. Load a second deck, blend the two with the crossfader, throw in a brake or an echo-out, and record the whole mix. What you save is exactly what you heard.
Specifications
- Decks: 2 on Producer Starter and Pro Studio; 4 on Label Enterprise and White Label. The plan's layout is fixed and decided on the server.
- Four-deck battle view (4-deck plans): All 4 decks / A + B / C + D; hidden decks keep playing and aren't drawn (an IntersectionObserver pauses their drawing, not their sound) and are listed in the bar; phones start with A + B and switch with a sideways swipe on a deck (not its record); the choice is kept in the browser (localStorage); on 4 cores or fewer (or 4 GB or less, where the browser reports it) a note suggests two at a time.
- Plan locks (in the app; the demo has none): a control the plan doesn't include stays pressable (aria-disabled, 🔒) and opens an upgrade prompt — a native dialog saying what the plan that has it adds and "You're on <plan>", Compare plans → /music/pricing (utmsource=spin, utmcontent = moves / decks / saves; no prices in the prompt), Not now / Escape return focus — logged as spinupgradeshown. 2-deck plans show grayed Deck C and D slots below the decks (above the mixer on a computer; after Deck B on an upright phone); at the monthly save limit "more saves" (and a refused save) opens it. The server enforces the plan regardless: deck count (toomanydecks), mono on Producer Starter, the monthly limit, and no account saves of the demo rig.
- Crossfader assign (every plan): Left / Off / Right per channel (Off = the crossfader doesn't touch that channel); the crossfader's end labels and its accessible name follow the assignment; saved with a take's mixer settings.
- Never silent: Deck A opens looping — what you last played (by hand; never a file from the device) → your latest capture → the Boom Bap Welcome Loop; if nothing loads, a soft 4-second tone;
/music/spin/<capture>goes first. Master at 70% (remembered). Autostart on; where the browser needs a tap first, "Tap anywhere to start the music". Leaving the page stops it; coming back resumes the same sound where it was (kept 12 hours) or from the start (setting). Pauses in the background unless set to keep playing. The first-visit hint appears once. - TRAX Welcome Loops: 15 eight-bar loops at 120 BPM (16 s, 32 kHz mono WAV, seamless, CC0, synthesized by TRAX from the TRAX kits): Boom Bap, Lo-Fi Chill, House 4/4, Trap 808, Techno Pulse, Jazz Hop, Soul Sample, Electronic Groove, Ambient Pad, Vocal Chop, Disco Funk, Afro Bounce, Synthwave, Dembow, Breakbeat.
- Loop / mute / clear: 🔁 Loop per deck (a sound not made to loop gets a 6 ms fade at the seam); 🔈 Mute per deck and 🔈 Mute all (silent, still turning); ⏏ Clear decks (silence).
- Settings (Settings → Spin Sampler, or ⚙ on the page): open with last played / a random Welcome Loop / a chosen loop / nothing; volume; autostart; Welcome Loops on every deck (only Deck A plays); background pause or keep playing; resume where it was or fresh. Saved to the account once the C22c+ database update runs (until then, in the browser).
- Sources per deck: the TRAX Welcome Loops, your audio captures, Create tracks (voice, imported, sample), the 18 TRAX Original Sounds, the Instrument Library (rendered as a 3-second phrase), or a file from your device (decoded in the browser, never uploaded). Up to 10 minutes per sound.
- Turntable: 33⅓ rpm; the hand controls the platter directly (−8× to +8×; held still = silence); the motor brings it back to speed in about 0.4 s; varispeed (pitch and time together), backwards when pulled back; a 15 Hz rumble filter, so a stopped record sends nothing.
- Controls per deck: Start / Stop, Cue (back to the start), Brake (≈1.5 s wind-down), Backspin, Echo out (⅜ s echo, 60% feedback, 3 s); keyboard: Space, ← / →.
- Mixer: a fader per deck (squared taper), an equal-power crossfader (decks A and C on the left, B and D on the right), master volume, a level meter per deck and for the master, and a limiter (−3 dB threshold, 20:1) that holds peaks just below full scale.
- EQ and Solo (every plan and the demo): a 3-band EQ per channel — Hi (high shelf, 8 kHz), Mid (bell, 1 kHz, Q 0.7), Low (low shelf, 100 Hz) — each −24 dB to +6 dB in 0.5 dB steps (−24 shows as "off"), double-click a band or EQ flat = flat; Solo per channel (while any channel is soloed only the soloed ones are heard; the others keep turning). EQ and solo are part of the recorded master output and of the take's saved mixer settings.
- Pitch and BPM (every plan and the demo): a pitch fader per deck, ±8% in 0.1% steps (the motor's target speed; kept when the sound changes; double-click or Reset pitch = 0). BPM readout = the sound's tempo × (1 + pitch): Welcome Loops are 120 BPM (known, one decimal); any other sound is a best guess made in the browser from its first minute (onset-energy autocorrelation, 60–180 BPM, shown as "≈"; can read ⅔ or ½ of the tempo on swung / half-time beats; no steady beat → "—"); Tap (4+ taps, the last 8 after any pause over 2 s) sets it exactly until the sound changes.
- Recorder: records the master output (what you hear), up to 5 minutes; Producer Starter records mono; the recorder's Echo out echoes every turning deck and keeps the 3 s tail; a silent take is flagged; Record waits while a sound is still loading, and sounds can't be swapped mid-take.
- Saves: to Captures (a sample capture named after the decks heard in the take, e.g. "Rhodes + Piano (spin)"; up to 50 MB, about 4½ minutes in stereo) or as a WAV download; Producer Starter: 5 a month in mono; Pro Studio and up: unlimited, stereo. A failed upload resumes without costing a second save.
- Public demo (/music/try-spin and "Try it live" on the home page, no account): 2 decks, the mixer and every move; Deck A opens playing the Boom Bap Welcome Loop (the TRAX Spin Break is in the list); TRAX sounds or a file from the device (up to 10 MB and 60 s, decoded in the browser, never uploaded); records up to 60 s and plays the take back in the tab. No saving without an account (Bianca, 2026-10-02; 1.23): "🔒 Sign up to save" and "🔒 Sign up to download" open the signup with Pro Studio picked (Request access while trials are closed); the take is never kept, uploaded or downloadable, and is gone when the tab closes; after signing up, Spin Sampler starts fresh with the same Welcome Loops. Shares send the demo's link with a caption (X; TikTok / Instagram copy the caption + link; copy link with campaign tags; the phone's share sheet), never the recording. (Mixes kept in a browser before 1.23 are still offered at the next sign-in there — "Add to my Captures" or "Not mine — delete it" — until they clear after 30 days.) Analytics: demosaveto_trax with want=save|download = a conversion attempt; anonymous counts only for visitors who aren't signed in (Vercel Web Analytics events, no cookies).
- What's stored with a save: the audio (Captures only), what was on each deck (a file's name only), the mixer's settings, the plan's rig and the length. No audio is stored while you play.
How to
- Open Spin Sampler (or try it without an account at /music/try-spin). A loop is already playing on Deck A.
- Drag Deck A's record to scratch it. Choose another sound on Deck B.
- Press ▶ Start on Deck B.
- Use the faders and the crossfader to blend the decks.
- Press ● Record, perform, then ■ Stop recording.
- → Save to Captures or ⤓ WAV.
Shortcuts
- Click a record, then Space to start or stop it, hold ← to pull it back, → to push it forward.
- Double-click the crossfader to center it.
What you can do
- Scratch, brake, backspin and echo out any sound you own, or one of the TRAX Original Sounds.
- Mix 2 decks (4 on Label Enterprise and White Label) with faders, a crossfader, a 3-band EQ and Solo per deck.
- Match tempos by ear and by number: a ±8% pitch fader and a BPM readout per deck, with Tap tempo.
- Battle with four decks: show all four or two at a time (the others keep playing), and put any deck on either side of the crossfader, or off it.
- Record a full performance and use it as a capture in a Create sketch or a project.
- Let anyone try it from the home page, and keep a demo mix by signing up.
What you can't do (yet)
- Generate your own Welcome Loop with AI (Coming soon).
- Build your own rig (add or remove decks, samplers and effects): Modular Spin is planned after launch.
- Change a deck's sound while recording; stop the take, swap it, and record again.
- Automatic beat matching (sync) or loop points.
- Chladni patterns in Spin (coming with the shared TRAX Chladni visuals).
Plans
- Producer Starter: 2 decks with the mixer and crossfader; 5 saves a month, mono; brake, backspin and echo-out are locked.
- Pro Studio: 2 decks; unlimited stereo saves; brake, backspin and echo-out.
- Label Enterprise: 4 decks (A to D) and a 4-channel mixer; everything in Pro Studio.
- White Label (by waitlist): 4 decks, as Label Enterprise.

Changelog
- 1.23 · 2026-10-02: The public demo plays and records as before, but saving needs an account: "Sign up to save" / "Sign up to download" lead to the signup; the take stays in the tab; shares send the demo's link.
- 1.22 · 2026-10-02: Plan locks explain themselves: a 🔒 control (Brake, Backspin, Echo out on Producer Starter; Echo out while recording) and grayed Deck C and D slots on 2-deck plans open a prompt with what the next plan adds and Compare plans; "more saves" at the monthly limit.
- 1.21 · 2026-10-02: Four-deck battle view (All 4 / A + B / C + D, hidden decks keep playing, swipe between pairs on a phone, a note on modest devices) and crossfader assign (Left / Off / Right) on every channel.
- 1.20 · 2026-10-02: Pitch fader (±8%) and BPM readout per deck (Welcome Loops 120; other sounds estimated, "≈"; Tap tempo); 3-band EQ (Hi / Mid / Low, −24 to +6 dB) and Solo per channel. Every plan and the demo.
- 1.19 · 2026-10-02: Never silent: Deck A opens with a sound looping (last played → latest capture → a Welcome Loop), 15 TRAX Welcome Loops, Loop / Mute / Mute all / Clear decks, Settings → Spin Sampler, "Tap anywhere to start the music", coming back where you were.
- 1.18 · 2026-10-02: The public demo: try Spin Sampler without an account at /music/try-spin and on the home page — two decks, every move, a 1-minute recorder, Download WAV, share, and Save to TRAX (at the next sign-in on that browser, add it to your Captures).
- 1.17 · 2026-10-02: Two decks and a mixer (four on Label Enterprise and White Label): channel faders, an equal-power crossfader, master volume and level meters; the recorder now keeps the master output, so a take has every deck and every move in it; echo-out on every deck; silent takes are flagged.
- 1.10 · 2026-10-01: Spin Sampler: one turntable, scratch any sound, brake, backspin and echo-out, record and save the performance.
⚖️ Rights & splits
Split agreements + e-signature
v1.15 · October 2, 2026 · Pro Studio · Label Enterprise · White Label
Turn agreed splits into a signed agreement — plus NDAs, work-for-hire agreements and performer release forms — signed online inside TRAX, verifiable by anyone, and amendable.
Story
Agreed splits are a record. A signed agreement makes them a contract. TRAX writes the agreement from the song's agreed splits, sends it to everyone on it, and collects their signatures online, without printing or scanning. Anyone can check a signature later.
Specifications
- Documents: split agreement, non-disclosure agreement, work-for-hire agreement, performer release form, and amendments to any of them.
- Jurisdictions: United States (Pro Studio); United Kingdom, European Union, Canada and Asia-Pacific (Label Enterprise and up).
- Genre packs (clauses added to a split agreement, suggested from the song's genre): hip-hop (samples, interpolations, beat leases), country (co-writes, writer and publisher shares), classical (public-domain works, arrangements, ensembles), electronic (remixes, stems, featured vocalists), pop co-writes (topline and track, writing-session splits), rock / band (band members, arrangements, members leaving).
- Signing:
- in TRAX, or through a personal signing link for people without an account
- three consent statements (electronic signature, how it's stored, no legal advice)
- signatures stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM)
- IP address and device kept only as one-way fingerprints
- Requests: answer-by date, reminders, re-issued links, decline with a reason.
- Integrity: each document has a fingerprint (hash) of its exact wording and signatures. Each signature gets a verification code that anyone can check on the public verify page.
- Amendments: change a signed agreement by an amendment everyone signs again. The previous version is kept and marked superseded.
- Outputs: a print view you can save as a PDF from your browser, and the song's split sheet (with its own PDF file).
How to
- Agree the splits on the song.
- Open the song's Rights → Legal, choose the document, the jurisdiction and any genre packs, and generate it.
- Send it for signatures. Everyone signs in TRAX or from their link.
- When everyone has signed, the agreement is fully executed and the split sheet shows Signed and sealed.
What you can do
- Generate a split agreement from agreed splits in seconds, with clauses for your genre.
- Collect signatures from people who don't use TRAX.
- Prove a signature is genuine, and that nothing changed since signing.
- Amend a signed agreement and keep the full history.
What you can't do (yet)
- Give legal advice. TRAX templates aren't legal advice, and everyone can ask their own lawyer first (Label Enterprise can request an attorney introduction).
- Add witness signatures.
- Use jurisdictions other than the United States on Pro Studio.
Plans
- Producer Starter: not included. Agreed splits and the split sheet are available.
- Pro Studio: split agreements, NDAs, work-for-hire and release forms, United States.
- Label Enterprise: adds the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada and Asia-Pacific, plus attorney introductions.
- White Label (by waitlist): adds your own legal templates.
Related
- Splits: the shares the agreement makes binding.
- Split sheets: the one-page record of the signed splits.
Changelog
- 1.15 · 2026-10-02: Two more genre packs: pop co-writes and rock / band.
- 2026-10-01: Split agreements with e-signature, NDAs, work-for-hire, release forms, amendments and public verification.
Split sheets
v1.15 · October 2, 2026 · Producer Starter · Pro Studio · Label Enterprise · White Label
The one page producers and artists swap after a session — who wrote, produced and performed the song, their agreed shares and the signatures — built from what's already on the song, and checkable by anyone.
Story
A split sheet is the page everyone signs after a session. In TRAX it builds itself from the song: the people, their roles, their agreed shares, their society details and their signatures, so nobody retypes anything. Print it, email it, share it, or download it for your accountant. A QR code lets anyone check that it's genuine.
Specifications
- Header: song title, artist, recording date, sessions and where they took place, the project, and the version (how many times the splits have been agreed or amended).
- Contributors:
- name and the legal name they typed when signing; their email once they've been sent the agreement to sign
- role and contribution (composition and lyrics, production, performance, session performance, engineering)
- share of master, publishing and sync
- society (PRO) and IPI number, and publisher
- signature date and verification code
- Totals: master, publishing and sync, each checked against exactly 100% (within 0.005%); a total that doesn't add up is flagged. Shares that aren't agreed yet are shown as proposed.
- Agreement terms: jurisdiction, governing law, dispute handling and how splits can change. These come from the song's latest fully signed split agreement or amendment, otherwise the one waiting on signatures.
- Certification: the agreement's fingerprint, the public verify page with a verification code, a QR code, the last change and when the sheet was made.
- Exports:
- PDF file, Letter (612 × 792 pt) or A4 (595 × 842 pt): paginated with the table header repeated, "Page X of Y" on every page, the "Signed and sealed" badge when it applies, and a vector QR code. Uses Latin standard fonts, so names in other scripts appear as "?" in the PDF and the image.
- image: 1080 × 1350 PNG (the first eight people, then "+N more"; totals; QR once someone has signed)
- print / save as PDF from the browser (print-ready layout)
- email (opens your email app with the sheet in the message)
- your device's share sheet (copies the link where there is none)
- copy the link (the reader signs in to see it)
- copy the public verify link
- downloads: text, CSV (one row per contributor, safe to open in spreadsheets) and JSON (
trax.split-sheet, format version 1) - Who can open it: the song's owner, people with split or money access on the song, and the song's mediator. The sheet shows everyone's shares.
- Signed and sealed: only while the fully signed agreement still matches the sheet (every share agreed, at 100% and covered by it). A new proposal after signing removes the seal until it's agreed and signed again.
- Former team members: someone removed from the team who still holds a share stays on the sheet.
- Phones: the contributor table turns into stacked cards at 700px and narrower.
How to
- Open a song's Rights → Split sheet to make and change it. Change the splits opens the split editor. Send for signatures opens the song's Legal page.
- Open the song's Royalties → Split sheet to share it: Print / save as PDF, Email, Share, Copy link, or Download.
- To check a signed sheet, open the verify page (or scan its QR code) and enter the code printed under a signature.
What you can do
- Get an industry-standard split sheet for any song without retyping anything.
- Download it as a PDF (Letter or A4) or an image, print it, email it, share it from your phone, or download it as text, CSV or JSON.
- Let anyone check a signature on the public verify page, no account needed (once the split agreement is signed — Pro Studio and up).
What you can't do (yet)
- Attach the PDF to the email automatically. Download the PDF, then attach it.
- Add witness signatures.
- Edit the sheet directly. Change the splits or the agreement, and the sheet follows.
- Show names in non-Latin scripts in the PDF or the image (Latin fonts). The on-screen sheet and the text, CSV and JSON downloads keep them.
Plans
- Producer Starter: the split sheet and all its exports (PDF, image, print, email, share, links, text / CSV / JSON), with shares and contributors. No signatures — split agreements aren't on Starter — so nothing to verify yet.
- Pro Studio: adds split agreements with e-signature, so the sheet carries signatures, verification codes, the QR code and the "Signed and sealed" seal; and society / IPI details from the song's Royalties Overview.
- Label Enterprise: same as Pro Studio for the sheet.
- White Label (by waitlist): same, with your branding across TRAX.
Related
- Splits: the shares the sheet shows.
- Legal agreements: the signatures and terms on the sheet.
- Royalties (its own entry is coming): where you share the sheet from.
Changelog
- 1.15 · 2026-10-02: PDF downloads (Letter and A4, page numbers, QR, "Signed and sealed"), a shareable 1080 × 1350 image, and two new genre packs for split agreements: pop co-writes and rock / band.
- 1.14 · 2026-10-02: Split sheets on every song (Rights and Royalties), with print / PDF, email, share, links, text / CSV / JSON downloads, a QR code and public verification. "View split sheet" added to the song's Splits card.
Splits
v1.15 · October 2, 2026 · Producer Starter · Pro Studio · Label Enterprise · White Label
Who gets what on every song — master, publishing and sync — agreed by everyone on it, and visible at a glance wherever you are in TRAX.
Story
Splits decide who owns what, and they're much easier to agree on early. Every song in TRAX shows its splits at the top of its page: a donut of who gets what, each person's share, and whether they've agreed. Edit splits is one click away. Everyone on a split approves it, so the numbers are agreed before anyone argues.
Specifications
- Rights types: master, publishing and sync. Each one has its own split.
- Shares: 0–100% each, up to two decimals (e.g. 33.33%). They must add up to exactly 100%.
- Starting points: industry templates (solo producer + featured vocalist, producer + writer + vocalist, full band, custom) and "Split evenly".
- Agreement: the owner proposes. Everyone on the split approves or rejects, and people with "Propose / counter splits" can counter-propose. When everyone has approved, the split is agreed. The owner records answers for people without a TRAX login.
- Status:
- per song: No splits yet · Waiting on answers · Disputed · Agreed · Signed (when a split agreement is fully signed)
- per person: Waiting · Countered · Agreed · Disputed
- Who sees what: the owner and people with split or money access see everyone's shares. Everyone else sees only their own share, with the rest shown as one "Everyone else" total. This applies on the song, Home, Rights & Splits and Royalties.
- Where it shows:
- the song's Splits card and Splits tab (with View split sheet)
- Rights & Splits in the sidebar, in the Approve & Rights group (every song with its split bar and one Set splits / Edit button)
- the Splits list, filtered by All · Waiting · Need splits · Agreed
- Home's "Your splits" card
- Royalties ("payouts follow these splits")
- + Add someone: from the split editor, add a person by name, role and share. Roles: artist, co-producer, songwriter / top-liner, session musician, engineer, A&R, manager, legal. They join the song's team tracked for credits, with no login needed.
- Messages and record: people with a TRAX login get a TRAX message. Every proposal, answer and agreement is written to the song's History, which is append-only and hash-chained.
- Answer-by dates (Pro Studio and up): reminders go out after 3, 7 and 14 days, and the day before the date.
- Phones: the Splits card stacks the donut above the list. Nothing scrolls sideways at 390px.
How to
- Open a song and press Set splits (or Edit splits) on its Splits card. You can also press Set splits on a song on Rights & Splits.
- Pick master, publishing or sync.
- Start from an industry template or set your own numbers. Press + Add someone for anyone who isn't on the team yet.
- Get the total to exactly 100% (the running total shows what's left), add a note if you like, and send it.
- You're back on the song, where the card confirms it was sent. Everyone on the split approves, rejects or counter-proposes.
What you can do
- See every song's splits at a glance, and open the editor in two clicks from anywhere in TRAX.
- Set master, publishing and sync separately, each with its own people and shares.
- Add a collaborator who isn't on TRAX yet, right from the split editor.
- Counter-propose (with permission), reject with a reason, and track every answer.
- Turn agreed splits into a split agreement everyone signs online (Pro Studio and up; see Legal agreements).
What you can't do (yet)
- Send a split that doesn't add up to exactly 100%.
- Propose a new split unless you're the song's owner. Everyone else approves, rejects or counter-proposes.
- Reuse someone already in People through + Add someone: it always adds a new person. To reuse someone, add them from the song's Team page.
- Use a custom role in the quick add. Custom roles are on the Team page.
- Treat a split as a contract on its own. It records what everyone agreed. A split agreement makes it a signed contract.
Plans
- Producer Starter: everything above: the Splits card and tab, Rights & Splits, Home and Royalties views, proposals, approvals, counters, + Add someone, the donut.
- Pro Studio: adds multi-round negotiation with answer-by dates and reminders, the waterfall and revenue-flow charts, industry benchmarks, and split agreements with e-signature.
- Label Enterprise: adds contribution-based suggestions (Suggest) and What-if scenarios.
- White Label (by waitlist): adds your label's own benchmark ranges on every song you own.
Related
- Split sheets: the one page everyone signs, built from these splits.
- Royalties (its own entry is coming): payouts follow the agreed splits.
- Legal agreements: turn splits into a signed agreement.
- Team and permissions (its own entry is coming): who can see and counter splits.
- Benchmarks (its own entry is coming): common ranges by genre and role.
Changelog
- 1.15 · 2026-10-02: The sidebar now runs in a song's order; Rights & Splits sits in its Approve & Rights group (after Review & Approvals, before Licensing).
- 1.14 · 2026-10-02: View split sheet on the song's Splits card, opening the song's industry-standard split sheet (see Split sheets).
- 1.13 · 2026-10-02: Splits up front. Added the song's Splits card and Splits tab, Rights & Splits back in the sidebar under Projects (songs first, one button per song), the Splits list with filters, Home's "Your splits", every song's split on Royalties, and + Add someone in the editor. Benchmarks moved to their own tab.
- 1.12 · 2026-10-02: Rights & Splits became two tabs, Rights and Royalties.
- 2026-10-01: Charts, benchmarks, multi-round negotiation, templates and split agreements with e-signature.
- 2026-09-30: Real agreed splits per rights type (master, publishing, sync), contributor cards and the contribution timeline.
∞ The Loop
The Loop
v1.29 · October 2, 2026 · Producer Starter · Pro Studio · Label Enterprise · White Label
Each song on the ∞ racetrack — five CREATE steps detected live, the AI Hub at the crossing, and IMPROVE expanding soon.
Story
A song is never "done". The Loop is the ∞ on every TRAX page: the CREATE loop takes a song from its first capture to its splits, and the IMPROVE loop (expanding soon) keeps it getting better. Open it and you see where the song stands and where to go next.
Specifications
- Widget: on every signed-in TRAX page (not on public pages, not while viewing as someone else or while an account is locked). Collapsed: a 56 px ∞ with a progress ring (the share of CREATE steps done) and the AI Hub dot. Open: the racetrack picture, the status ("2 of 5 · next: Build"), the five steps as links, the next step's hint and link, the song picker, Corner.
- CREATE steps, detected live (nothing stored): Capture = a capture on the song (not archived) · Lyrics = Lyric Helper lyrics linked to the song, or "Instrumental: skip lyrics" · Build = a Create sketch linked to the song (not archived) has tracks · Mix = an Audio Lab mix version · Rights = a rights type saved at 100% (agreed by all and signed by all shown as extra ticks; they don't hold the step). Steps can be done in any order; "next" is the first not done.
- Which song: inside a song (/music/projects/<id>/…) that song (checked with the same access rule as the song's pages, so an archived song works too); elsewhere the most recently changed song you can open (owned or shared, not archived), or one picked from the list. A song you can't open is never shown.
- Finished: when all five steps are done, the first time The Loop is seen by someone who can change the song (owner, or editmetadata), it opens by itself on a celebration (confetti, off under reduced motion; role=status line); Done — or closing The Loop — ends it for good for that song (celebratedat; the browser and the session also remember, so it works before the database update); focus returns to the ∞; the line is read out through a live region. A finished song's panel: WAV (Audio Lab) (→ the song's Audio Lab, where each mix version now has a Download WAV link; "MP3 export is coming soon"), Split sheet (when the viewer may see every share), Share (the phone's share sheet — closing it does nothing — else the song's link copied, else shown to copy; team members only), Start a new song (/music/projects/new).
- Home page (C-THE-LOOP 4/5; additive since 1.28): the hero stays the all-in-one promise ("The complete platform for your music career … All in one place.", the lifecycle waveform, "See what's coming" + "How The Loop works"); The Loop's own section follows with its picture and "Your tracks never stop improving", then the story — CREATE (available now), IMPROVE (expanding soon), tracks that start new tracks (later phases), the AI Hub; "DJ Together" (Wave 2) follows; The Loop's roadmap (Phase 1 now, 2 next, 3–5 later — no dates) sits just before pricing. One LoopMark component draws the widget, the landing's Loop section and Master TRAX. The landing is additive only: a feature adds its own section, existing sections stay.
- Master TRAX (/music/master; sidebar right under Home; "Every song: Master TRAX" in The Loop): every song the person can open (owned or shared, not archived; the most recently changed first) as a dot at its station on one Loop — gray nothing yet, violet in CREATE, blue finished (waiting at IMPROVE's entrance, above the gap between the AI Hub and IMPROVE), red ring = an open split dispute; up to 7 dots on an arc outside each station then "+N"; press a station to filter to it. Highlights: in CREATE (incl. nothing yet) · finished · need attention · moves this week (from the station log; backfill rows aren't moves; repeats collapsed). Most recently changed first across owned and shared songs. Lanes = the same songs as links (the accessible / phone view; the picture is aria-hidden). Filters: All / In CREATE / Finished / Needs attention. Recent moves: the last 12. Plans: Producer Starter 10 songs, Pro Studio 50, Label Enterprise and White Label every song (a note + Compare plans when more exist). Steps for many songs come from a handful of batched reads (the same rules as The Loop). Songs made before the station log existed were given their starting step once, by an admin (a song whose data couldn't be read was skipped rather than given a wrong step).
- Master TRAX ambient view (5/5b, every plan): ⛶ Ambient view opens the picture full screen (a fixed full-window layer where the browser can't), with the four numbers, the latest 3 moves and a clock; it refreshes every minute and keeps the screen awake where the browser supports it (Screen Wake Lock); the controls and the pointer fade after 3 seconds still; Esc / ✕ / leaving full screen closes it and focus returns to the button. Music: a Welcome Loop (Ambient Pad by default, any of the 15) plays softly from the moment it opens until the person turns it off (remembered on the device); "Tap for music" if the browser blocks it. Reduced motion: the dots stay still.
- Save as image (5/5b, Pro Studio and up): ⤓ Save as image downloads the picture as it's filtered — a 1600×1000 PNG with "Master TRAX", the song count, the filter, the date, the four numbers, a legend and the brand name (the White Label client's on White Label); dots only, no song titles. Made in the browser (the on-screen SVGs with their colors written in, drawn onto a canvas). Producer Starter sees 🔒 and a short "Pro Studio adds" prompt with Compare plans (no prices).
- Station log (after the database update): each time a song is seen at a new station (its next step, or "finished"), one row — from, to, when, source autodetect, filed under the song's owner — for Master TRAX's timeline; the first finish also sets completedat. Logged only when every read of the song worked (a failed read never logs a move back). Best effort: a failure never breaks The Loop; repeats from two looks at once are collapsed when the timeline reads them.
- IMPROVE (Analyze, Insights, Opportunities, Refine, Alert): drawn dimmed, "Expanding soon" (Phase 2); no invented insights.
- AI Hub (the center X, or the "AI Hub" tab): TRAX's existing AI tools suggested for the song — rules on the song's own data, so every card says why (no invented insight), and a card only appears when the person can use its tool: Lyric Helper (no lyrics linked; owner / editmetadata; themes and questions only — it never writes lyrics) · Rights Suggest (work on the song, no split at 100%; the owner's plan includes rights analysis and the viewer sees every share → /projects/<id>/rights/suggest) · Business Coach (the song is finished; full Business Coach plans). Mix Intelligence joins when it analyzes real mixes (today it's a sample walkthrough). The card for the song's next step comes first. Accept opens the tool; Not now sets the card aside for that song (this browser). On plans with the full Business Coach, this week's top rules-based card not yet acted on, to act on (following its link closes The Loop; the update finishes on its own) or dismiss. Your AI log: the last 15 AI actions across TRAX (Lyric Helper, rights coaching and analysis, Mix Intelligence, Business Coach, the hub). Off switch: "Turn AI suggestions off in The Loop" (this browser). GET /music/api/loop/hub; events loopaiaccepted / loopai_dismissed.
- Placement: starts bottom-left beside the sidebar (bottom-right belongs to the capture mic); drag anywhere and it snaps to the nearest corner (the pointer is captured, so a quick flick works); keyboard: Enter opens, Escape (inside The Loop) closes and returns focus, Corner moves it; lifts above a song page's lifecycle strip, the Create Studio's transport and the install prompt; bottom-right sits above the mic; phones: 14 px from the edge, and going somewhere from the panel closes it; hidden when printing.
- Accessibility: the ∞ is a button with aria-expanded and a label ("The Loop: <song>, 2 of 5 · next: Build"); the picture has a text title; the steps are a list of links with done / next / to do announced; reduced motion stops the hub's pulse and the next station's glow.
- Lyrics → song: in Lyric Helper, "For the song" links the lyrics to a song you may edit (owner, or a member who can edit its details) — POST /music/api/lyrics/[id]/song; unlinking never changes the lyrics.
- Data: the corner you put The Loop in, the songs marked instrumental (and who marked them), which song your lyrics are for, and each song's moves between stations are saved to your account; the steps themselves are worked out live from your songs.
How to
- Press the ∞ at the bottom of any page.
- Read the status, then press the next step (or a station in the picture).
- Instrumental song? Press Instrumental: skip lyrics.
- Drag the ∞ to another corner if it's in your way.
What you can do
- See every CREATE step of a song at a glance, and jump straight to the next one.
- Mark a song instrumental, or link your Lyric Helper lyrics to it.
- See every song on one Loop (Master TRAX): where each one is, what needs you, what moved.
- Leave Master TRAX running full screen (the ambient view), with a Welcome Loop playing if you like.
- Save Master TRAX as an image to share (Pro Studio and up).
- See what TRAX's AI tools suggest for a song, and why, in one place — take a suggestion, set it aside, or switch suggestions off.
- Celebrate a finished song, then export its WAV, open its split sheet, share it with the team or start the next one.
- Put The Loop in any corner.
What you can't do (yet)
- The IMPROVE loop: expanding soon (Phase 2).
- Master TRAX song titles in the saved image (dots only, by design), or a time-lapse of your catalog (later).
- AI suggestions saved to your account (today the set-aside cards and the off switch live in the browser).
- MP3 export (coming soon; WAV now, from the Audio Lab).
Plans
- Producer Starter: The Loop, every step; Master TRAX shows the 10 most recently changed songs, with the ambient view.
- Pro Studio: The Loop, every step; Master TRAX shows 50, with the ambient view and Save as image.
- Label Enterprise: The Loop, every step; Master TRAX shows every song, with the ambient view and Save as image.
- White Label (by waitlist): The Loop, every step, in the client's brand; Master TRAX shows every song, with the ambient view and Save as image (in the client's name).

Account emails + password reset
v1.17 · October 2, 2026 · Producer Starter · Pro Studio · Label Enterprise · White Label
The emails TRAX sends about your account — and only those — plus a secure "Forgot your password?" that signs every other device out.
Story
TRAX emails you only when something about your account needs you: confirming your email, trial reminders, receipts, payment problems, plan changes, and password resets. Each email says why you got it. Forgot your password? A one-hour, one-use link gets you back in, and signs out everywhere else.
Specifications
- Emails (28):
- confirm your email
- account already exists
- trial started
- during the trial: tips on days 3 / 7 / 14 and reminders 7 / 3 / 1 days before the end (days 23 / 27 / 29), "Subscribe to continue" the day it ends (soft launch schedule; the 14-days-left reminder is retired)
- after an unpaid trial (paused, never deleted): the day after (work kept 90 days), days 7 / 30 / 60 / 85, a final notice on day 90, "archived" on day 97 (recoverable for a year by subscribing or replying)
- welcome (subscribed)
- receipt
- payment failed
- bank confirmation needed
- plan changed
- cancellation scheduled
- subscription ended
- password reset
- password changed
- Format: plain text plus simple HTML (one button, works in every mail app). Names are escaped, and only http(s) links become buttons.
- Delivery:
- sent through Resend straight away when queued; a failed send gets another try at the next send run at least 5 min, 30 min, 2 h and 12 h later (the daily job, or Admin → Emails → Send queued now), then it's marked failed
- the trial and paused-account emails are queued by the daily job and sent at the end of it (each run sends for up to 45 seconds; the rest go next run); only accounts within 100 days of their trial's end are looked at
- a reset or confirm link that expired before it could be sent, a trial tip, reminder or paused-account note more than 36 hours late (or a paused-account mark missed by more than 2 days), and anything queued more than 7 days ago are skipped, not sent
- White Label waitlist: a confirmation to them and a notification to Bianca
- each email is sent once (deduplicated per moment, Resend idempotency key)
- the link is cleared from TRAX's copy once sent
- test accounts and test addresses (example.com, .test, .invalid) are never mailed
- Password reset:
- by email or username, for accounts with an email on file
- the link works once, for 60 minutes; only a SHA-256 of it is kept
- same answer whether or not an account exists, after the same minimum time (2 seconds); the email is sent in the background
- at most 3 links per account and 10 per network per hour (counted after each request is recorded, so requests sent at once can't get round it)
- a link stops working if the login is turned off before it's used
- new password at least 12 characters
- every session from before the reset is signed out, and a "password changed" email follows
- Clean-up: reset links older than 30 days are deleted by the daily job.
- Admin: Admin → Emails shows whether sending is on, the database updates, queued / sent / failed counts, the latest emails (addresses masked), "Send queued now", and a preview of every email.
How to
- On the log-in page, choose Forgot your password?
- Enter your email or username.
- Open the link in the email (within an hour) and choose a new password.
What you can do
- Get back into your account without anyone's help, securely.
- See exactly why each email was sent. None of them are marketing.
What you can't do (yet)
- Reset a password for a login with no email on file. Ask the person who set it up, or reply to any TRAX email.
- Choose which account emails you get. They're all about your account, so they all go out.
- Receive emails by text message (SMS is planned).
Plans
- Producer Starter: every account email, and password reset.
- Pro Studio: the same.
- Label Enterprise: the same.
