SOUND SOURCES

Sound sources & licenses

Everything you hear in the TRAX studio, and the terms it comes under. Your own recordings are always yours.

  • Tone.js

    MIT License

The Web Audio framework TRAX builds on. Every Instrument Library sound, the synthesized drum kits and the studio's effects are generated live with it in your browser.

  • TRAX Original Sounds

    CC0 1.0 (public domain dedication)

The 18 one-shots in the TRAX Boom Bap, TRAX Live Kit and TRAX House drum kits, the TRAX Spin Break (the Spin Sampler demo's loop: the TRAX Boom Bap kit plus a synthesized vocal "ahh") and the 15 TRAX Welcome Loops (eight bars at 120 BPM, built from the TRAX kits and TRAX synthesizers) — synthesized by TRAX and rendered offline, no third-party recordings. Use them in anything; credit appreciated, not required.

  • YIN pitch detection

Published algorithm (de Cheveigné & Kawahara, 2002), implemented by TRAX

How Autotune Lite and Hum-to-MIDI hear the pitch of a voice — on your device.

  • PSOLA pitch shifting

Classic signal-processing technique, implemented by TRAX

How Autotune Lite moves a note while keeping the timing and character of the voice.

Recorded sample packs (concert piano, orchestra, cinematic) are on the roadmap; each pack will be listed here with its license when it ships. See What’s New and Trust.
